KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- In the NCCAA Championship match, the Lady Hawks (28-7) were found on the wrong side of a 3-0 decision to McMurry, the only team to hand the Lady Hawks a defeat in the national tournament. McMurry handed the Lady Hawks their only other defeat in the opening match of the tournament, 3-1.
McMurry won the sets 25-17, 25-19, 25-21, while outhitting Shorter .156 to .069.
Anna Graham had a match high 15 kills, while hitting .417.
Three seniors recorded double digit digs in their final match. Jordan Corder led the Lady Hawks with 13 digs, to accompany 29 assists. Tanequa Whitman also had 13 digs, while Loren Olive followed with 12 digs and five kills.
Jasmine Crook finished the match with 12 digs and nine kills.
Another senior, Leslie Welch, added four more blocks and four kills.
McMurry was led by Ayssa Garcia as she recorded a match high 26 digs. M.J. Vickers recorded eight kills, while Kayla Hines added seven. Peyton Evans would tally 22 assists and four blocks for the eventual champions.
For the tournament Corder would rack up 233 assists and 67 digs; Crook would add 93 kills; Graham totaled 76 kills; Welch added 57 kills and 27 blocks; Whitman would tally 110 digs; Olive added 68 digs, 35 kills, and seven aces.
