ROME -- The Shorter University volleyball squad remained undefeated at home by taking a straight set victory over visiting Gulf South Conference opponent Alabama-Huntsville, 25-23, 25-12, 25-23, on the court of the Winthrop-King Centre.
Shorter (12-2, 5-2 GSC) out hit UAH (9-8, 3-4 GSC) .327 to .176 for the match, with the biggest difference coming in the second set where Shorter hit a match high .423 while UAH was at -.065.
Graham hit .500 to lead the assault, with Welch at .467 and Crook at .406.
Jordan Corder provided 36 of the 40 assists credited to the Lady Hawks.
Angela Thurmond registered 13 kills the lead the Lady Chargers. Kelly Wilson (19) and Ashton Baker (16) totaled 35 of the UAH 39 assists. Stacey Sargent stayed busy while tallying 13 digs.
Shorter is back in action tomorrow, Friday, October 5, as West Georgia makes its way to the Winthrop-King Centre for a 7 pm start.
