Tennis drops pair to nationally ranked West Florida

ROME - The Hawks tennis programs took to the court of the Walt Attaway Tennis Complex versus Gulf South Conference rival West Florida, losing 9-0 in both the Men's and Women's matches. The Argos sport the No. 2 ranked Men's team and No. 10 ranked Women's team.

The Hawks (4-6) dropped all three doubles matches, with the team of Romain Ferreira/Romain Lefevre winning a trio of games – the most by any of the pairings – at No. 1 doubles, 8-3.

Ferreira was able to win a set in singles action from the number two slot before losing to Tony Rajaobelina, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9.

The Argos are in the midst of a 12-match GSC winning streak, last losing to Valdosta State in regular season action in February 2011.

The Lady Hawks (6-5) were also swept by West Florida.

Doubles action saw Sicquena Sinclair/Iesha Holton win three games before losing the 8-3 decision to the team of Mariana Sonnervig/Luiza Sonnervig.

The singles action saw the Lady Hawks drop all decision in two sets.

Tennis is back in action n March 20 as Lee visits for a 2 pm start.
