Rome, Ga.—The Lady Hawks swept the doubleheader with West Florida Saturday afternoon from Alto Park. The game scores were 3-0 and 5-0, respectively.
The wins improve Shorter to 36-8 overall, and 22-6 in conference play. The Argos fall to 15-21 on the season, and 8-14 in the Gulf South.
Christina Ezell pitched the complete game gem for Shorter; holding West Florida scoreless, while allowing three hits and striking out nine. Jordan Ratliff was tagged with the loss for the Argos; going six innings, giving up three runs on three hits with six strikeouts.
In the finale, the Lady Hawks got on the board in second as one run scored on a RBI single from Maddie Bray. Shorter added four runs in the fourth on a grand slam from Felicia Morris, to make it a 5-0 game.
Bray picked up the win for the Lady Hawks, allowing no runs on six hits with eight strikeouts. Taylor Bailey recorded the loss for West Florida as she allowed five runs on eight hits, with three strikeouts.
Johnson ended the day with a hit and 2 RBI, while Morris finished with two hits and 4 RBI.
Shorter will be back in action tomorrow, April 21, as they host No. 3 Valdosta State at Alto Park in a doubleheader beginning at 1pm.
