HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – With two goals scored in the second half, the Lady Hawks scored their first shutout of the season with a 2-0 victory at Alabama-Huntsville.
The victory is the first Gulf South Conference victory in program history. UAH came into the game ranked No. 8 in the NCAA South Region according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on the heels of winning three straight.
Lamas has returned from injury to start the last two games and has provided some valuable play since her return. The score accounted for her first points on the season.
Katie Stachula started her fourth straight game in goal and collected her first career shutout while making three saves.
The win brings Shorter to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in Gulf South Conference play. The Lady Hawks are back in action on Saturday as they host another new program to the GSC in Union.
