Women's Lax wins regular season finale, 17-10

ROME, Ga.—Women's Lacrosse team defeated the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College, 17-10, Tuesday evening in its regular season finale.

The win improves the Lady Hawks to 11-4 on the season, and 4-1 at Ben Brady Field.

Mia Wiggins led the offensive attack for Shorter, netting three goals. Rachel Skinner, Bianca Rojas, Avery Armstrong, and Aiste Pranciliauskaite chipped in with two goals each.

The Lady Hawks went into halftime with an 11-2 advantage, and added to their lead with six goals after the break. Young Harris netted eight goals over the final thirty minutes, and used a 6-0 run over the final ten minutes to close the gap.

Taylor Moody and Nicole Kube split the time in goal for Shorter. Moody recorded one save on three shots faced, while Kube blocked one of nine. Young Harris goalie, Carter Moore, had nine saves over twenty-six shots.

The Mountain Lions won seventeen draws, whereas, Shorter controlled twelve. The Lady Hawks took advantage of thirty Young Harris turnovers, scooped up forty-three groundballs and outshot the Mountain Lions 31-13.

Taylor Lincoln finished with a game high five goals for Young Harris.

Women's Lacrosse will be back in action, April 12, as they travel to Savannah for a matchup with NWLL rival SCAD for the South Region Championship. Game time is to be determined. Check for updates.
