MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Lady Hawks saw a three game winning streak get snapped on the front end of a North Carolina road trip, losing at Mount Olive 14-12.

The Lady Hawks (6-3) got scoring from a pair that had been quiet in the scoring department thus far this season.

Through the first eight games of the season, Bianca Rojas scored just eight goals before erupting for five scores on Saturday, while Katie Ott scored three times in the game to match her total for the season entering the game.

Taylor Moody made 13 saves while facing a Trojans offense that saw Riann Daziel score five goals for the second consecutive game.

The Lady Hawks held an 8-4 halftime lead, before Mount Olive scored six unanswered goals in the second half to lead 10-9.

A furry of scoring found the game tied, 12-12, after Rojas scored her final goal via a free position shot with 5:33 remaining.

Mount Union picked up a pair of goals in the 56th minute to establish the final margin.

Shorter will visit Chowan for an 11 am start tomorrow.
