Tunica, Miss.—Shorter's Golf teams competed in the Gulf South Conference Championship April 22-23. The Lady Hawks finished 2nd, while the Hawks finished 7th.
The Shorter women placed second with a two day total of 646 (319-327); while first place finisher, West Florida, finished with a grand total of 615 (306-309).
Isabella Baldacci, shooting 75 in both rounds for a total of 150, placed third individually. Teammates, Maria Bengtsson and Claudia Orrantia, finished tied for fifth with a 160. Bengtsson's scores were 76 and 84, while Orrantia shot 81 and 79 over the two rounds.
On the men's side, Shorter shot a three round total of 919 (301-315-303), to finish in 7th place. West Florida also took the championship for the men with a total of 886 (290-289-307).
Patric Sundlof had the best finish by a Hawk, finished tied for 5th individually. He shot 75-77-68 for the three round event.
Although Shorter placed four team members—thee from the women, one from the men—in the top five, none were eligible for all-tournament accolades.
