PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. -- The Shorter women's golf team placed third after two rounds of competition for the NCCAA Championships.

The Lady Hawks shot a two-day total of 638 with Dallas Baptist taking home the team championship with a two-day total of 613.

Pauline Schopp (74-77-151) finished in a tie for second with Mercedes Rios from Dallas Baptist to lead the team, trailing only eventual tournament champion Erin Barrington of Dallas Baptist.

Rachel Butler (80-81-161) came home in 12th, while Isabella Baldacci (84-79-163) finished in 15th in the field of 51 competitors.

Rounding out the team was Maria Bengtsson (84-86-170) in 28th and Amanda Schwartz (92-79-171) for a 31st place finish.

The Championships were held at The Hombre Golf Club. Each fall the course is the home of the PGA Tour Qualifying School that has seen Gary Nicklaus, Mike Weir, Michael Campbell, Frank Lickliter, and Scott McCarron come through on their way to play on the PGA Tour. Once again, the NCCAA partnered with the Panama City Men's Rescue Mission & Bethel Village for Women to provide a Christian Service Project. Mission residents were invited to attend the Tee-Off banquet and sit with a team that became their adopted favorite for the week.
