Lady Hawks 10-6 (GSC 5-3) vs. UAH Lady Chargers 8-10 (GSC 5-3)

ROME -- The Lady Hawks continue to roll after a fourth straight victory, defeating Albany State Thursday night in dominant fashion. The Lady Hawks have the opportunity to win a fifth consecutive game when the Alabama-Huntsville Lady Chargers visit the Winthrop-King Centre.
Four wins in a row can build the momentum for any team, including back-to-back single point Gulf South Conference victories over North Alabama and Union; have the confidence level high heading into another GSC contest.
The Lady Hawks fans have watched the consistent play of senior forward Shelby Farrer; she is averaging 10 points per game and collecting six rebounds.
Lynette Harris has made her first season as a Hawk a strong one; since the streak began against Christian Brothers University she is averaging 11 points a game and seven rebounds. Harris's play has complimented the Lady Hawks offensive attack along side Karisma Boykin. Boykin had a monster game over Union, tacking on 19 points, four rebounds and three assists to help defeat the Bulldogs.
Boykin, Harris and Farrer, have been the triplets of consistency during these past four games. The Lady Hawks game plan for the Lady Chargers should look familiar to the plan against Albany State: shoot smart, out-rebound, and create turnovers that turn in to points.
The Lady Chargers have a solid offense and are ranked second in Gulf South Conference scoring. However, the Lady Chargers defense has been suspect this year and ranks at the bottom of GSC scoring defense. Jordan Smith and Jasmine Hammon are both placed in the top three scorers in the GSC. Smith has made more 3-pointers than any other player so far in the season, and Hammon is averaging 19 points a game.
Tip-off is scheduled for 2 pm at the Winthrop-King Centre. Fans unable to make the game can follow the live stats by clicking on this link. Fans can also catch all the live action by tuning into 95.7 WATG-FM The Ridge or by accessing the audio link located on the women's basketball schedule.
