Greenville, S.C.—Allen Huntley has been named the NCCAA’s Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Week the conference released Tuesday afternoon.
This is the first nomination for Huntley; who was previously named Athlete of the Week for the Peach Belt Conference.
Huntley earned this recognition after a great showing at the Sea Ray Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee this past weekend. Huntley, a senior from Atlanta, Ga., finished sixth in the Men’s 200m Dash in a time of 21.59 (2nd in the NCCAA). In qualifying he ran an impressive 21.17; which was third amongst all competitors. He also ran the second leg for Shorter’s Men’s 4x400m Relay that finished 19th in a time of 3:19:31 (5th in the NCCAA).
Huntley is the first member of the Shorter track and field team to win an NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week honor.
Shorter returns to action Friday and Saturday, April 19 & 20, as they host the Peach Belt Conference Championship at Historic Barron Stadium.
