Wrestling falls 33-18 at home to No. 18 Cumberland University

ROME – The Shorter wrestling program opened up their home schedule, losing to No. 18 Cumberland University, 33-18.

The Hawks were able to gain victories in three weight classes.

Gabriel Bird won by the 11-5 decision versus Shane Brown in the 157-pound weight class.

The 165-pound class saw T.J. Duncan win via pin over David Capers, 2:13 into the match.

Chris Rowland got the 3-1 decision in triple-overtime versus Tyler Smith.

Shorter will return to the mat on December 1 when the team competes in the Cavalier Duals in Albany, Ga.
