Hawks defeat  Georgia Southwestern, 7-2

AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Shorter Hawks started the 2013 season with a 7-2 victory at Georgia Southwestern on Saturday.

The Hawks would win the first five singles competitions. Romain Ferreira (7-5, 6-4), Romain Lefevre (6-3, 6-4), Marc Guerry (6-2, 7-5), Nikola Pavlovic (7-6, 6-3), and Arturo Lifshitz (3-6, 6-4, 1-0) got the Hawks off to the hot start.

Doubles saw Shorter win the first match, with Lefevre and Ferreira picking up the 9-7 victory. Georgia Southwestern would defeat Colt Kelley and Robert Watson in the second match, before Pavlovic and Guerry (9-8) would claim the final match of the day.

The Hawks will visit the Savannah College of Art and Design on Saturday before returning back to Rome.
