ROME – It took less than a minute for the scoring to start, and at the end of the day Shorter found themselves on the wrong side of a 5-2 decision to West Florida.
West Florida (5-2-1, 4-0-1 GSC) got the scoring started when Dillon Gallet found the back of the net 51 seconds into the match. The Argos would add two more goals in the first half, while Diego Gonzalez was able to score for the Hawks in the seventh minute on a loose ball in front of the net.
Gonzalez was able to put a rebound away in the 63rd minute when Guy Hunt's shot slipped out of the gloves of the Argo keeper for his second goal.
The Hawks (2-7-1, 1-5-0 GSC) are on the road for the next two games and will get a break from the Gulf South Conference schools.
