Vienna, WV—Men's Lacrosse extended its win streak to three games with the win over Ohio Valley on the road Saturday afternoon; defeating the Fighting Scots 15-13.
The win improves the Hawks to 5-7 on the season; while Ohio Valley falls to 4-7.
With the game tied 7-7 at the half, the Hawks used a five goal third quarter to take the lead for good; holding Ohio Valley to two. In the final period the Fighting Scots mounted a comeback scoring four times, but Shorter tallied three to maintain the advantage.
The Hawks won 18 of 27 faceoffs, and took advantage of six Ohio Valley turnovers en route to the victory; as well as, going 15-16 on clear attempts. Shorter collected thirty-three groundballs, with Joshua Skinner accounting for thirteen.
J.R. Willers played the entire game in goal for the Hawks; making thirteen saves while facing thirty shots.
The Hawks will be back in action, April 13, as they travel to Young Harris for a 1pm game.
