JACKSON, Tenn. -– The Hawks broke out of a slump with a 77-64 home victory against North Alabama on Thursday and now travel to Union on Saturday looking to sweep the season series from the Bulldogs.
The last time these two teams met was on January 19; with the Hawks claiming a 74-68 victory behind a 20-point nine rebound performance from Anthony Banks. Dedric Ware pitched in with 18 points and six assists, while Walter Hill scored 13 points and tied Kenny Leverette with seven rebounds.
Union enters the game coming off of an 82-77 loss to No. 8 Alabama-Huntsville. Union's Corieon Pearson drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send Union to the locker room up 40-31. The Chargers led by as many as eight points in the second half. But Union didn't go away, getting as close as one point several times down the stretch. Anthony Freeman, Jr. led Union with 21 points, Roy Bullock, III added 18 points, Pedro Faller scored 11 points, and Pearson added 10 points.
