ROME - The Shorter Hawks return from the Christmas break looking to extend the home court dominance, this time playing host to Clark Atlanta.
Shorter (6-3) has run the home record to 4-0 this season, averaging over 102 points per game on the court of the Winthrop-King Centre. This game will be the first time that Walter Hill, 2011-12 All-American, will play in front of the home crowd. In his two games thus far this season, he is averaging 16 points while shooting 43 percent from the field.
For the season the Hawks are only giving up 73.2 points through the first nine games of the season, while holding the opposition to 41.5 percent from the floor.
The game will be the second time the two teams have played in a month, with Shorter winning the December 8 match-up on the campus of Clark Atlanta, 83-67. Banks put up 20 points to lead the Hawks, with Davis adding 18 from the bench. Dedric Ware dished out 10 assists, his second time reaching double digits on the season. Jerrel Joye led the Panthers in scoring on the night, with 22 points.
CAU (1-6) is coming off of the first win for the season, 95-91 over Carver College.
