YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. -- Coming off of an impressive 92-49 victory Monday night against Knoxville College, the Shorter men's basketball team will travel to face Division II affiliate, Young Harris College, tomorrow afternoon.
Shorter (1-1) picked up its first win of the season at home Monday night against Knoxville.
All-American forward Anthony Banks led the way for the Hawks with 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead all players in both categories. Senior C.J. Davis added 12 points in the contest while freshmen Daniel Howell chipped in 10 points coming off the bench.
The Hawks received exceptional play from their bench, as the Shorter reserves accounted for 39 of the team's 92 points.
Young Harris tips off its season this Saturday against Shorter.
A member of the Peach Belt Conference, Young Harris returns eight players, including all five starters, from last year's team that went 22-4.
The Georgia Basketball Coaches Association recognized the entire starting lineup for Young Harris last season, with 6-4 junior Frank Adams being named to the NCAA Division II All-State first team. Adams averaged 20.5 points per game last season while pulling down 7.3 rebounds a game.
Young Harris has played in two exhibition games this season, losing to both the University of Georgia (86-52) and the University of Alabama-Birmingham (105-59).
