Tennis falls to Auburn-Montgomery

ROME, Ga.—Both men’s and women’s tennis teams fell to Auburn-Montgomery Saturday afternoon at the Walt Attaway Complex. The Hawks lost 9-0, while the Lady Hawks fell 7-2.

The men fall to 8-9 on the season; and the women fall to 12-6 and snap a six game win streak.

The Hawks dropped all nine matches of day. The closest Shorter came to winning was in No. 1 singles where Romain Lefevre took his match to additional sets, by winning the second set 6-4.

The Lady Hawks trailed 3-0 after doubles, but pulled out wins in singles at the No. 4 and No. 6 spots. Aurore Beltrando earned the win over Maria Fernanda Vargas 6-0, 6-7, 8-6. Sicquena Sinclair defeated Hagar Caro 6-2, 6-4.

The women will be back in action Monday, April 15, as they travel to West Georgia for Gulf South play, matches begin at 4pm. The men wait until Tuesday, April 16, as they travel to Emory for a 2pm start.
